Pilates
What is pilates?
Pilates is a form of exercise that builds strength, improves flexibility and develops control and endurance in the entire body. Evolving from an exercise methodology designed by Joseph Pilates in the 1930’s, clinical Pilates emphasises postural alignment and breathing, developing a strong core while improving balance and co-ordination. Pilates involves a mind and breath connection with your movement creating focus and clarity.
At One Body Wellness your Pilates Instructors are trained health professionals. Their knowledge and clinical experience enhances the specificity of your session helping you reach those movement goals.
We offer equipment based Clinical Pilates classes for every level. Each class is capped at four people so that each person can get the personalised attention they need.
An initial one on one assessment is required prior to entering a class so an individualised program can be devised.
Clinical Pilates is ideal for:
Remaining strong while pregnant with antenatal pilates
Regaining strength after giving birth with postnatal pilates
Injury rehabilitation
Exercising to reduce and prevent lower back pain and pelvic pain
Improving posture due to a sedentary lifestyle
